Fluency Isn’t Intelligence

Abstract

A confident answer can feel intelligent because it is clear, well structured, and easy to follow. But fluency is not the same as intelligence. This article explores why language models can sound convincing while still being wrong, and why the right question is not whether an answer sounds smart but whether it can be verified and withstand scrutiny.
